My paintings span several mediums – oil painting, acrylic, soft pastel, oil pastel, and watercolor (my first love). I enjoy jumping around from one medium to the next, and always seek to expand my own mark making. In addition to working with several mediums, I also will switch from realism to abstraction, often blending the two. Most of my work features impressionistic brushwork and vibrant color. Texture has become an important component as well – its qualities which shift with the light when viewed in person; when viewed online, texture can be implied.
