This watercolor painting captures the quiet, misty beauty of an interdunal pond at West Beach, one of the most peaceful landscapes in the Indiana Dunes National Park. I painted this piece in studio from photos I took on a foggy morning, layering watercolor washes and subtle metallic accents to reflect the early light.

These interdunal ponds are rare ecological features formed between dune ridges near Lake Michigan—home to unique plant life and some of the most serene views in the region. This artwork celebrates that delicate, hidden world.
