A Walk In The Old Pasture

I took this photo in late October in our back pasture while on a walk with Biala, our young Maremma / Polish Tatra dog. I loved the framing of the honey locust tree and the woods behind us. I enjoyed acclimating myself to the deep violet hues of the Terry Ludwig V100 eggplant pastel for the darker punches. This piece started with a watercolor underpainting. A good eraser job for the white dog was helpful!
