"Mourning in the Fog" reflects the heavy toll avian flu has taken on Sandhill Cranes this year. The muted tones and misty background mirror the uncertainty and loss these birds face. Despite the hardship, they stand together—a quiet moment of resilience. This piece was inspired by a photograph of sandhill cranes taken by local photographer Jeff Basham.
